Sprint objectives are the key goals your team aims to accomplish during a sprint. If you’re working with a client, these objectives are typically drawn from the scope of work. For side or personal projects, a helpful approach is to ask:
“What tasks must be completed for this sprint to be considered a success?”
How Sprint Objectives Work
- Tracking Progress : As you mark sprint objectives as complete, the progress bar fills up, providing a clear visual of your team’s momentum. This progress can give your team (and you) a much-needed morale boost.
- Exporting Tasks : From the [[Tasks]] menu, you can convert a sprint objective into a "regular" task that you can add to you or your teammates lists in the [[Kanban Page]] view.
- Client Visibility : Sprint objectives are also displayed in the [[Portal Page]], allowing followers or clients to see progress in real time.
Are Sprint Objectives Required?
No, sprint objectives are completely optional. However, setting them is highly recommended as they provide clarity, focus, and a clear definition of success for each sprint.
Sprint Task Management
- List Your Tasks : Sprint progress is measured as a percentage of the total number of completed tasks. Each checked-off task contributes to the overall sprint progress.
- Checklists : Adding a checklist to a task creates a sub-checklist, breaking down the task into smaller, manageable steps.
- Export : Use the "Export" option to add any task to the [[Kanban Page]], allowing for seamless integration with your broader project management workflow.
Accessing Sprint Objectives
You can access your sprint objectives in two places:
-
Kanban Board
: Located in the top bar.
-
Action Bar
: Found on the tasks page for quick access to your sprint’s tasks.
